What It’s Like Being a 19-Year-Old Realtor
Experience does not always come from age. Sometimes it comes from hunger, hard work, and heart.

When most people hear that I am a 19-year-old Realtor, they pause. Some are impressed, some are curious, and some are skeptical. I understand why. Real estate is full of seasoned agents with years of experience and long client lists.
But I decided to start early because I have never believed in waiting for permission to chase something meaningful. I am in college, yes, but I also run a growing real estate career at the same time. It is not always easy, but it is exactly where I want to be.
The Beginning
I grew up around people who valued hard work, family, and community. They talked about how a home is more than walls and furniture. It is where life happens. That idea stuck with me.
When I decided to get my real estate license, I was still finishing high school. While juggling multiple commitments and preparing for college, I was learning about contracts, inspections, and negotiation. I wanted to build something real instead of waiting until “someday.”
At first, it felt intimidating. I walked into rooms full of agents twice my age. But what I learned quickly is that people do not hire a number. They hire trust, energy, and effort.
Proving Myself Every Day
When you are young, you do not get to lean on a long résumé. You earn respect through reliability. I make it a point to show up early, over-prepare for every showing, and always follow through.
I study market data, learn from every mentor I can find, and spend time getting to know what buyers and sellers in my area truly care about. When you combine knowledge with genuine care, clients notice.
My age does not hold me back. It drives me to be sharper.
Connecting with First-Time Buyers
Many of my clients are young professionals buying their first homes. I understand what that feels like because I am in a similar stage of life — figuring things out, setting goals, and taking big steps for the first time.
That shared perspective builds trust. I know how intimidating the process can seem. My job is to make it simple and clear, to help people move from uncertainty to confidence. Every first home is a story, and I am grateful to be part of so many of them.
What I Have Learned So Far
Real estate has taught me lessons that reach far beyond the business itself. I have learned that honesty beats perfection. If I do not know something, I find the answer quickly. I have learned that consistency is everything. You cannot fake showing up, and you cannot shortcut care.
I have also learned that every interaction counts. Whether it is a showing, a conversation, or a quick check-in, professionalism is built one small action at a time.
Looking Ahead
I still have a lot to learn, and that is what makes this exciting. I am building a career at 19, but I am also building relationships, credibility, and confidence that will last a lifetime.
My goal is not to rush. It is to grow the right way — through hard work, curiosity, and genuine connection.
Final Thought
Being a 19-year-old Realtor means proving that passion can stand beside experience. It means balancing learning with leading, and choosing to start before everything feels perfect.
Age does not define professionalism. Commitment does. And every client I meet reminds me that starting early was the best decision I could have made.
